NNHS Theatre presents “The Man Who Came to Dinner”
April 28, 2009
Naperville North High School Theatre presents “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, masters of comedic playwriting. The NNHS production is directed by Bill Burghardt and produced by Ryan Cap and will be staged April 30 and May 1 and 2 at 7 PM in the Naperville North High School Auditorium, 899 N. Mill Street, Naperville.
Tickets are $6 for students and seniors and $7 for adults; they are available one hour before show time at the box office. For more information, contact Gale Ganet at galeganet@comcast.net or (630) 660-4650.
A comedy in three acts, which debuted in 1939 at the Music Box Theatre in New York City, The Man Who Came to Dinner tripped on the front step of his hosts' home and is now trapped there for six weeks until the broken bones heal. His hosts are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stanley, perfectly nice, conservative, prosperous, provincial, uppercrust folks in a small Ohio town. Their unintendedly long-term guest is Sheridan Whiteside, a famous man of letters, world traveler, hob-nobber with everyone who is anyone—and quick to drop their names. Whiteside is selfish, self-centered, egotistic, and manipulative. He's also aggressively insulting, but with wit. This farcical production requires speed and pac ing, frequent and speedy entrances and exits, a whirling vortex of one liners, ripostes, unexpected coincidences, pratfalls, put-downs and come-uppances. Come join in the fun.A Stars on Parade Thank You

NNHS Aquatic Scoreboard Fundraiser
February 17, 2009
This May, Naperville North High School will begin construction on a state of the art swimming pool. With this renovation, Naperville North will again be the site of significant aquatic competitions. Our new pool will enable expanded lessons, training, and conditioning. This pool will be an asset benefiting the aquatic community for many years to come.
For all the amenities this new swimming pool will have, there has been no funding or provisions for a suitable scoreboard. The present scoreboard, although functional, is antiquated, unreliable, and ill suited for the new facility that will be built. As a result, the Naperville North High School Booster Club in cooperation with Athletics is undertaking a special fundraising effort to provide for a new aquatics scoreboard.
The new scoreboard will be large. It will be a brilliant amber monochrome on black. It will be programmable and compatible with the current timing and scoring systems now in use for all aquatic sports. The board will enable graphics, animations and advertising opportunities. The scoreboard will also come with a price tag of $45,000. At this time, we have secured significant donations for this project. We still need to raise thousands of dollars and we need your help. Please donate what you can to this cause.
